About the role: As a Senior Adviser, Lived or Living Experience (Consumer - AOD) in the Lived and Living Experience Advisory Hub, you will provide strategic lived or living experience advice to the Lived Experience Executive, and to all staff across the Mental Health and Wellbeing Division.
You will ensure the views of consumers, particularly in relation to alcohol and other drugs (AOD), are central and integral to the design and delivery of AOD and mental health services.
This includes supporting the delivery of policies and programs related to the lived or living experience of substance use and addiction and mental health challenges and psychological distress.

How you'll make a difference: Provide expert advice to Mental Health and Wellbeing Division staff on the lived and living experience of consumers and potential consumers of the mental health system and AOD system.
Support Mental Health and Wellbeing Division staff in partnership activity and partnering with people with lived and living experience of substance use and addiction in the implementation of the Royal Commission's recommendations.
Provide flexible support within the Lived Experience Branch to deliver lived experience policies and projects.
Provide support and advice to embed lived and living expertise to Divisional projects and initiatives.
Support the cultural shift and practices that will enable the views of consumers to be central to and integrated into the design and delivery of mental health and AOD services.
Support associated research and analysis of emerging issues of participatory engagement with lived and living experience perspectives and matters within the mental health and AOD systems.
Ensure contemporary approaches to partnership with people with lived and living experience all implementation work and strive for consistency in approaches and methodologies.
Support the design and implementation of Royal Commission recommendations in partnership with project leads across the Division, including through participation in governance and advisory structures.
