About the role As the Senior Adviser for Executive Recruitment, you will provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders on a range of executive employment matters throughout the executive lifecycle.
Collaborating with senior leaders, you will offer expert advice on best practices in recruitment, including effective sourcing strategies, candidate assessments, and remuneration, while ensuring alignment with departmental policies and procedures.
You will work closely with the Principal Lead to establish and enhance executive recruitment policies, processes, and tools, actively seeking opportunities for continuous improvement to strengthen departmental outcomes and service delivery.
Key Accountabilities Manage and promote best practices in executive recruitment by providing expert advice on effective sourcing strategies, candidate assessments, and fostering an inclusive hiring process to attract diverse talent.Provide specialist advice to executive employees throughout the employment cycle, including processing higher duties, contract variations, terminations, and offering expert guidance on employment terms and conditions.Support the annual executive remuneration reviews and related communications, ensuring alignment with VPS pay equity principles and other key remuneration standards to promote transparency and stakeholder understanding.Collaborate closely with the Principal Lead to embed and refine recruitment policies, processes, methods, and tools, proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to drive enhanced departmental outcomes and service delivery.In partnership with the wider People and Culture team, provide insightful talent metrics to deliver reliable HR information to the Senior Executive Group, enabling effective change within the business.Provision of support to the Recruitment team, as required.To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate: Experience and knowledge of VPS executive remuneration and superannuation, along with the ability to provide expert consulting advice and recommendations regarding remuneration packages to senior stakeholders.Proven capability to develop, implement, and evaluate a range of contemporary talent acquisition and mobility strategies and operational practices that effectively support the strategic objectives of the department.Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, provide policy and process advice, and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes.Strong conceptual and analytical skills, combined with sound judgment and a willingness to identify issues and develop appropriate solutions to address business problems and enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and deadlines while making senior clients and their needs a primary focus to maintain satisfaction.This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.
