About the role: Fixed-Term position until 30 June 2025.The Senior Adviser, Complex Needs works in consultation with the Program Manager, Complex Needs, Project Officer, Complex Needs, and a Deputy Chief Psychiatrist to convene the State-wide Complex Needs Advisory Panel.The role will provide departments and services with consultation and advice for people with complex needs, with a whole of system lens.The role will identify suitable people to be presented at panel, assist in the secretariat functions for the monthly panel meetings and provide departments and services with support to implement panel recommendations.How you'll make a difference: Provide expert and authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative service delivery options and solutions to complex and sensitive issues, inclusive of quality, clinical governance, and oversight considerations.Collaborate with carers, service providers, government and non-government agencies, professional bodies, and other stakeholders, in generating solutions to complex issues pertaining to mental health, disability, alcohol and other drug use, housing and forensic service delivery.Forge strong connections across the department and with external stakeholders and collaborate on the strategic design and development of departmental objectives that impact on statewide and local service delivery to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated services for people with complex needs.Support the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist to convene the State-wide Complex Needs Advisory Panel (SCNAP), including secretariat support.Prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, presentations, the SCNAP annual report, discussion papers, and ministerial briefs on complex mental health matters related to the functions of the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist.Understand and document service delivery issues, risks and trends impacting on individuals with complex needs.Able to prepare complex summaries, minutes, briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language and ensures that appropriate style and formats are used.Under the direction of the Chief Psychiatrist, provide expert advice on complex matters and consult with consumers, carers, service providers, government and non-government agencies, professional bodies, and other stakeholders, in generating solutions to issues pertaining to mental health service delivery.Contribute to and support activities and projects that aim to improve the quality and safety of mental health services and health service providers.Undertake high-level research into service delivery issues, risks and trends impacting on achieving quality service provision, policy initiatives and operational imperatives.What we offer: The opportunity to perform meaningful work, making direct contributions toward enabling Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world.A wide range of growth and development opportunities within the department and wider Victorian Public Service & Sector.A strong commitment to work-life balance, including a diverse array of flexible working arrangements.How to apply: Applications should include a resume and a cover letter.
