The Building Projects Directorate within the Infrastructure Delivery Division provides advisory and management services to assist State government agencies manage the construction, replacement, refurbishment or demolition of buildings, office accommodation and government employee housing. The Opportunity The Senior Administrative Officer provides high level administrative support to ensure the efficient functioning of the Directorate. The position works closely with the Director, Building Projects as well as providing assistance and support to the broader directorate, including internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Administrative Officer provides leadership, direction and management of the directorate administrative team, driving a positive and collaborative team culture and ensuring administrative support services are delivered in a responsive and timely manner across the directorate. This includes (but are not limited to) the provision of high level advice, management of Freedom of Information and Auditor-General requests, coordination of directorate responses (e.g. annual reporting, audits, estimates briefings, Ministerial correspondence, Cabinet submissions), secretariat and governance support for committees and working groups and process and system management. About You We are seeking a dynamic senior administrative officer to join our team, delivering customer-focused and strategically aligned services. You will need to possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage stakeholders and negotiate complex matters effectively. Working under broad direction, you will apply your well-developed discipline knowledge, independently or as part of a team, to prioritise, plan, and coordinate activities, implement change, and mitigate risk. Can you leverage high-level analytical and research skills to evaluate complex information, provide expert advice, and manage competing priorities? Do you have a demonstrated ability to act with urgency, accept responsibility, and successfully implement change and risk management initiatives? Ideally you will have a proven track record of identifying performance outcomes, setting priorities, and making informed decisions while meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts professionally and tactfully, are essential for success in this role. Qualifications/Experience Qualifications or experience in Business, Administration, Management, or similar field are desirable. Special Conditions The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years. Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
