About the role
Mater Mothers Hospital is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Administration Officer on a permanent part time basis (30 hours per week)
to join our team within the Admissions, Pregnancy Assessment Unit and Birth Suites areas. Mater Administration Officers are highly experienced in providing medical administration support, including using Patient Administration Systems, within hospital/healthcare environments. The successful applicant will be required to work 8.5 hour shifts and have flexibility for 24/7 shift work. Mater Mothers' Hospital has an excellent reputation for providing quality and compassionate care to women and babies with complex complications in pregnancy, in accordance with the philosophy and tradition of the Sisters of Mercy. Manage, organise and provide confidential administrative support with strong customer focus to staff, patients and visitors Provide administrative assistance in a team environment focusing on attention to detail, time management and task prioritisation in a fast paced environment Exercise judgement where necessary to problem solve in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined Provide reception administration in an admission and emergency environment including booking and arriving patients, filing and liaising with clinical staff in accordance with departmental policy. Billing, receipting and banking knowledge Medicare and Insurance knowledge Carry out other administration functions as directed by your Team Leader/Manager Provide accurate data entry using various network based information systems
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have: At least 3 years' experience in providing high level administration. Hospital / outpatient experience desirable Highly developed time management and organisational skills Strong computer skills including MS Office suite and hospital administration systems Dynamic, positive and outcome focused Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively with staff of all levels, patients and the wider community Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
