Senior Administration Officer - 12 months Fixed-Term ContractPosition InformationIn this full-time fixed-term role, you will be responsible for strategic and operational support to the General Manager, Leadership Team, Mayor and Councillors through efficient research, administrative support, coordination, and effective communication, so that Council goals can be met.
The position holder may be required to assist other departments within Council by undertaking other positions and duties as required and directed.
Qualifications and LicencesCertificate IV in Business or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of skills, experience and training.Driver LicenceExperience, Knowledge and SkillsExperience in administration related to business support services that relate to records management, information technology and compliance.Experience in providing executive support to senior staff including but not limited to diary management, drafting correspondence and prioritising workflow.Demonstrated experience in the effective coordination of events, functions, itineraries and travel requirements indicating an ability to work independently, meet deadlines and exercise confidentiality and sound judgement.Well-developed written and analytical skills focusing on procedure development, agenda preparation, minute taking, reports and other business writing.Excellent organisation skills with evidence of high-level attention to detail and an ability to achieve outcomes within deadlines.Effective interpersonal and communication skills that foster inclusive and consultative practices and provides responsive and effective customer service.Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.An understanding of local government including the preparation of agendas and minutes within the guidelines of the legislative requirements under the Local Government Act 1993 and associated regulations (desirable).About usLatrobe municipality is located in the north-west of Tasmania and shares a municipal boundary with Kentish Council, Devonport City Council, West Tamar Council and Meander Valley Council.
