The Organisation Northern Australian Indigenous Land and Sea Management Alliance (NAILSMA) NAILSMA is an Indigenous-led not-for-profit company that operates across northern Australia to assist Indigenous people manage their country sustainably for future generations. We provide Indigenous leadership in the delivery of large-scale and complex programs that meet the environmental, social, cultural, and economic needs of Indigenous people across northern Australia. We have been operating for over 20 years, and due to recent growth, we are seeking a Senior Administration Officer.

The Opportunity The Senior Administration Officer (SAO) will work under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This position is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the office administration functions and systems and providing high-level administrative support to NAILSMA staff, clients, stakeholders, and visitors. The SAO will supervise administration staff.
The responsibilities of the role are to coordinate the business administration and office management requirements, including but not limited to, data management, procurement, travel, logistics, assets, facilities, IT, office supplies, reception, mail, and service providers.
Provide a consistently high level of service to all stakeholders across Northern Australia in a prompt and pleasant manner whilst maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards. Mentor staff regarding the use of policies, procedures, and forms including assisting with the reviewing and updating of the Quality Management System. Ensure business administration registers are kept current with accurate data management. Purchase of goods and services in a timely manner including travel. Support with work, health and safety management and act as the First Aid Officer and Fire Warden. Support with the coordination of staff meetings. Support with human resource tasks such as the onboarding process for new staff. About You Have knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and peoples and demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Have an understanding of land and sea management. Have an understanding of how non-profit and non-government organisations operate. Display good interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures. Can establish and maintain positive working relationships and provide a high-level administrative service to internal and external clients from diverse backgrounds. Use initiative and time management skills to prioritise, organise and complete work tasks and meet competing deadlines in a timely manner. Effectively and efficiently use information technology and programs including Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint. Have experience in supervising staff in a positive and professional manner. May have experience in financial administration (desirable). Possess a Northern Territory driver's licence or the ability to obtain one. Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to undertake training. Have undertaken Fire Warden training or be willing to undertake. Your Reward Salary of $75k-$95k + Superannuation.
