Exciting New Role- Permanent, Full-time, Herston | Provide, deliver and maintain efficient contemporary records management services within the Health Protection Branch
The role
The senior administration officer is responsible for supporting units by providing effective and efficient records management services from the point of capturing via the Electronic Data Records Management System (eDRMS) through to the final disposition. General administrative tasks wil be required to assist with the daily operations of the Branch.
The successful person
The successful person must be capable of repeated lifting, handlin and transportation of archive boxes and other physical records (up to 15 kg) and to be able to complete high volumes of data entry. Demonstrated abilitity to quickly acquire knowlesge of Queensland Government legislation, regulartions, policies and standards. You must be able to work autonomously as well as a member of a team including the ability to liase with staff from diverse backgrounds whilst providing front line supervision for document and records management staff.

About Queensland Public Health and Scientific Services (QPHaSS)
Under the leadership of the Deputy Director General, QPHaSS brings together key system support functions and the surveillance, prevention and control of communicable diseases and public health risks in Queensland – Leading the statewide planning and coordination of programs and services to prevent or control, health-related diseases, hazards and harmful practices and enhance protective health factors to promote the overall health and wellbeing of Queenslanders. A scope of service that covers the whole State across four key pillars; Pathology Queensland; Biomedical Technology Services, Forensic and Scientific Services and Public Health. 
Health Protection and Regulation Branch within the Public health Pillar is responsible for safeguarding the community from potential harm or illness caused by hazards and harmful practices, and enhancing the protective elements of water quality, fluoridation, food safety, radiation safety, medicines and poisons safety, healthcare legislation and chemical safety.
