The Role

Take responsibility for your own portfolio of clients.
In addition to compliance duties such as preparing tax returns and financial statements, you will also be providing tax advice to your clients in areas such as CGT and GST including Margin Scheme and Div 7A.
Direct contact with sole traders and small businesses, while assisting a Manager with work for larger business clients as you continue to hone your skills.
Although the client base is diverse, many of the customers are involved in property investment and construction, so experience and an interest in this area will be advantageous.
Competent administrative staff to assist you in staying focused on the important issues for your clients.

The Culture

Each staff member has 2 – 3 screens at their desk and all accountants have sit down/stand up electronic desks.
Paperless office utilising Xero Practice Manager for Tax, time sheets, billing and CRM software.
Opportunity to work closely with the Directors.
Flexible working hours are available as all staff have remote access.
Time in lieu provided if you work overtime during a busy period.
In-house coffee machine, a fully stocked drinks fridge with soft drinks and alcoholic beverages available to all staff and clients in addition to fresh fruit and other snacks (chips, chocolate and muesli bars).
All staff members celebrate their birthdays with an out of office lunch. Other annual celebrations include an End of Financial Year celebration dinner, a December day out for the last working day of the year where the office is closed early, as well as an Annual Christmas Dinner with staff and partners.
Quarterly company events that take place outside the office.
Gift card bonuses on a regular basis.
All staff volunteer at a charity for one day a year.

We are seeking someone with 4+ years experience that is currently in a role where they are using Xero and have provided tax advice.
