Purpose The Senior Accountant will provide expertise and support to the Financial Controller and operational leaders in Property through analysis of financial and non-financial data, providing key business insight to improve operational outcomes and contribute to the long-term profitable growth of FCTG. Application of technical accounting knowledge will be a key component of the role ensuring effective analysis and reporting of the progress of FCTG's Property department.
Month end financial accounting and reporting. Understand and take responsibility for the cost base of Property. Deliver proactive management reporting and detailed analysis. Evaluate opportunities in key supplier spend analysis. Provide commercial insight around performance and perfor m deep dive analysis on key performance areas. Assist in the delivery of the budgeting and forecasting process. Assist in the development of business analysis and models which support key business outcomes. Design management reports effectively capturing the key business indicators. Understand and review consumption and distribution of costs to front-end businesses. Assist with the continual review of all aspects of the business to ensure risk reduction and profit maximisation. Responsible for preparation of management and financial reporting. Ensure strong financial control and integrity. Ownership of the accuracy of the balance sheet. Assist in business planning, cost allocation, forecast and budget processes. Apply technical accounting knowledge to transactions for presentation and disclosure purposes. Conduct analysis of variances between actuals, budget and prior year. Provide analytical insight into financial results and trends and provide this insight to operational leaders and the Financial Controller. Ad-hoc project work and excel modelling. We'd love to hear from you if you have… Accounting degree (working towards CPA/CA would be beneficial but not essential). 5- 6 years' experience in a finance role. High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel. High attention to detail. Strong financial control and technical knowledge. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop relationships at all levels. Ability to present complex information in simple format to operational leaders. Proven teamwork skills. Strong analytical skills with initiative to resolve issues or pursue business opportunities identified. High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure. Proven time management and organisational skills. What's in it for you?
