Edward Mann are recruiting for a national not-for-profit based in Subiaco. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to work closely with the CFO and Finance Manager to act as a senior member of the team and provide leadership to junior staff members. This role will also lead financial reporting schedules and business partner with various stakeholders across the organisation. It is a 12-month contract, paying up to 115k + Super + 18.5k salary packaging (equivalent of circa 132k outside of NFP/Charity, after tax). Onsite-parking provided and flexible working options. Responsibilities: Complete month end accounting tasks, including reconciliations and processing end-of-month adjustments and journals, ensuring all transactions are compliant and completed in a timely fashion. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, including liaising with department heads. Assist with the audit preparation and liaise with auditors. Assist in process improvement projects. Ensure risk management strategies are adhered to, including planning, designing and implementing best practise risk management framework. Ensure grant income is recognised accordingly. Review grant budgets and ensure that that all expenditure has been accounted for. Ensure all internal recoveries are processed monthly through internal journals. Prepare grant acquittals, including documentation and financial reporting requirements. Reconcile grant income and deferred liabilities at the end of each month. Desirables: CPA or CA Qualified, those who are studying or qualified by experience will also be considered. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Strong excel skills and systems savvy – Able to pick up and use new systems quickly. Comfortable being a self-starter who can work independently with a high level of initiative.
