AltX Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team on a 15 month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records as well as supporting decision-making through sound financial analysis. This role requires a deep understanding of financial accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Key Responsibilities Month-end Processes: Take ownership of various month-end processes, income recognition, manual journals, reconciliation of cash flows, processing of payments, Treasury & Trust accounting, write-offs, and refunds. Reconciliation: Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations, including management of bank accounts, cash flows, GL accounts, and Trust Accounts. Intercompany transaction and reconciliation: Record intercompany transactions and perform monthly reconciliation. Investor payment processing: Timely processing of investor repayments. Financial Analysis: Analyse financial performance, identifying trends and making recommendations for cost control and revenue enhancement. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with operational stakeholders, providing management accounting and analytical support to key divisions. Investment Oversight: Collaborate with the AltX Operations team to ensure proper accounting of investments and assess financial implications. Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Internal Controls: Develop and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and improve efficiency. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with CPA or equivalent certification. Proven experience as an accountant, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB Advanced) and MS Office Suite. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
