Purpose of Role:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supervising our Shared Services Activities (GL/AP/AR performed by Weir Business Services - WBS) for the Australasian region. To further support implementing and embedding the outsourced Finance shared service function within the region. This is a fixed-term contract until March 2025. Key Responsibilities:

Share service reviews:

Review the output of shared services, team training and staff development with mentoring and advice to enhance efficiency and understanding. Identify and analyze process errors and anomalies (e.g., coding errors, variance analysis, etc.), troubleshoot and work with global accounting and other finance functions for permanent resolution. Review balance sheet reconciliations on a timely and accurate basis and in compliance with company guidelines. Monthly reviews:

Review monthly close processes to ensure books and records are accurately stated and all close procedures are completed. Communicate process objectives, steps, and changes to ensure processes are performed in compliance with company close schedule. Review processes for fixed assets and leases including ongoing activities and quarterly review. Audit:

Coordinate the Financial Audit requirements (PBC's) from PWC, having reviewed the submissions from shared services prior to upload to PWC portal. Communication:

Review documented business process and implement process improvements. Respond to internal customer escalations and exceptions to research and resolve inquiries in a timely manner. Safety First:

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, CPA is preferred with 7 years of relevant experience (mandatory). Exposure to Shared Service and on newly transitioned activities; knowledge in the creation of desktop procedures, and experience in process improvement (mandatory). Experience in Oracle, Month End Close and Accounts Reconciliation is an advantage. Demonstrates an understanding of basic financial concepts such as cash flows, operating profit/loss, and net income; conduct financial analyses.
