Job Description: Ensure timely and accurate periodic reporting across Australia & New ZealandROYAL CANIN is a global leader in pet health nutritionPermanent full-time role based onsite in Melbourne + hybrid workingHere at Royal Canin we have a unique opportunity for a Senior Accountantto join the Royal Canin finance team.In this engaging position, you will be a key contributor across the Royal Canin business delivering a high standard of technical advice, act as a 2IC to the Financial Operations Manager, have a drive for meeting deadlines and be able to guide the development of the broader finance team.
You will have responsibilities across the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) businesses that include; ensuring timely and accurate periodic reporting, ownership of the Balance Sheet, reconciling balance sheet general ledger accounts, enhancing the culture of governance and working with the Mars Tax & Treasury and External Audit team.
This role would be ideal if you have been considering making the move from Chartered Accounting.
What will be your key responsibilities?Responsible for running the period end process, including managing key deliverables with all teams across the business in ANZ. Submission of financial results to the parent entity, working closely with the Head Office team in France.
Responsible for the preparation of the recurring financial management reports, ensuring timeliness, compliance, accountability and accuracy
Identify where changes or continuous improvements in processes are required, develop the case of change and drive implementation
Assist the FOM to manage the Financial Operations of the business, ensuring accurate data recording, complete and accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations with regular follow up
Support the Mars Tax & Treasury team with tax compliance and requests for information for various Audits
Ensure you are a contributing member of our highly performing S&F team, working on and leading various projects including team engagement and continuous improvement.
What are we looking for?Proven accounting experience, preferably in large corporate or public practice (this role is ideal for a first mover from Chartered Accounting)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Commerce
CPA/CA qualified
Strong attention to detail and a drive for meeting deadlines
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude
ERP experience is desirable.
