About the role We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join Select Plant Australia in Laverton (Vic). You will provide support to Select's Finance, regional management and leadership teams as well as the wider Laing O'Rourke Finance in the form of financial analysis and recommendations, processing and transactional entries, regional forecasting and business partnering as well as other financial duties from time to time. This permanent role offers great career prospects with one of the largest specialist plant hire businesses in Australia.
Key responsibilities Working closely with Regional Management teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of regional forecasts which are being used to support the Select business plan. This includes working closely with Regional Commercial managers to prepare the forecast, understand and challenge movements against prior forecasts and budget, provide commentary and insight as well as annual budget preparation. Management of allocated Central cost centres including partnering with respective leadership team to ensure completeness and accuracy of forecast. Ensure all allocated areas of P&L and Balance Sheet forecast are complete for relevant reviews and submissions by Select Finance and Leadership team. Ad hoc financial data reconciliations. Assist with audit of financial statements and project specific audits. Ad-hoc tasks as assigned from time to time. About you 3 years as an accountant. Background in the equipment rental, rail, or construction sectors preferable. Degree qualified accountant and CA/CPA qualified. Understand the accounting concepts underpinning recognition of fixed assets, lease liabilities, construction and non-construction revenue recognition, and the applicable accounting standards (AASB/IFRS).
