Business Services & Corporate Advisory (Accounting) Are you a motivated and experienced Accountant looking for an impactful role?
Join ECKA as our Senior Accountant, where you will lead our finance team, ensuring accuracy in financial operations and reporting.
Your role is crucial in supporting our purpose-driven work, managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies, accounting standards, and external regulations.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be pivotal in guiding our financial strategy, enhancing financial systems, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing finance team.
You will also coach and mentor team members, supporting their professional growth and ensuring alignment with ECKA's values.
While we are looking for a minimum of 24 hours per week, we are flexible on the hours and days for this role and will design the working times around the needs of the right person for the role.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a finance team with three direct reports, ensuring effective performance and adherence to internal controls.Prepare and present accurate monthly financial reports, including balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow reports, and variance analysis.Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, assist with forecasting, and maintain the asset register.Ensure compliance with government funding agreements, prepare accounts for audit, and manage audit outcomes.Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and Board, attend Finance & Audit Committee meetings, and contribute to strategic planning.Analyse and implement systems to enhance operational efficiency and maintain finance-related policies and procedures.Manage fixed asset reporting, investments, payroll reconciliations, and leave provisions.Monitor cash flow and assist with budget development and forecasting.Support a culture of quality improvement and adhere to ECKA's privacy policy and procedures.About You: Education: Hold an accounting qualification, CPA or CA.Experience: At least 4 years in a similar accounting role, ideally within a not-for-profit organisation.Skills: Extensive knowledge of financial and accounting principles, proficiency with finance software (Xero, MYOB), and advanced Excel skills.Taxation Knowledge: Experience managing GST and other tax-related matters.Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff and professionals.Team Collaboration: Ability to work flexibly and professionally with staff, professionals, and ECKA Management.Why Join Us?
