Are you a Senior Accountant looking to step up into a leadership role? We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to become an Accounting Manager in a global engineering business whose APAC Head Office is here in Brisbane.
As the 2i C to the CFO, you'll take on a pivotal role in overseeing financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to support key business decisions.
This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, giving you the platform to influence operational and financial outcomes while furthering your career development.
Key Responsibilities Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring financial data is accurate, timely, and compliant with internal controls and accounting policies; Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss statements, providing actionable insights that reflect the business's operational performance; Work with Operational Managers to analyse operational statistics such as margin reviews, sales forecasts, and profitability analyses, providing financial expertise to inform project decision-making and long-term planning; Liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth year-end close and timely audit process while maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; Oversee tax return preparation in collaboration with external consultants, ensuring accuracy and adherence to local tax laws; Review and enhance financial policies and procedures to boost operational efficiency and ensure compliance; and Work directly with the CFO on strategic financial matters and take on additional duties as required to support the evolving needs of the business.
Qualifications CA/CPA qualified or equivalent with solid financial accounting experience, ideally at the Senior Accountant level; Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, tax, and compliance; Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders; and Proven ability to manage financial processes and potential to lead a team.
