The Role: As Account Manager, you'll take charge of managing day-to-day client work, focusing on high-impact government communications.
You will be responsible for developing strategic communications programs, pitching behaviour change campaign materials, and building relationships with key stakeholders, including media, government officials, and advocacy groups.
In this role, you'll help create and execute PR strategies for government campaigns, including public service announcements and behaviour change communications.
You'll craft narratives that communicate government initiatives in a clear and compelling way, while ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
Core Responsibilities: Support the team to manage PR campaigns for government clients, providing strategic counsel on public policy messaging, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. Develop communication strategies that align with government priorities, building public understanding and support for key initiatives. Creation of press releases, media pitches, speeches, reports, and other content tailored to government narratives. Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, government officials, and public sector stakeholders. Work closely with senior leadership to support business development and expand our portfolio of government clients. Manage client budgets and resources in coordination with the Senior Account Director and Account Director, ensuring efficient project delivery. Support and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Keep clients informed on the effectiveness of campaigns, providing regular reports and adjusting strategies as needed. A Bit About You: Experience in government PR, public affairs, or working with public sector clients, ideally in an agency environment highly desirable but not essential. Strong expertise in earned media and strategic communications, with the ability to craft compelling narratives. Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop genuine connections with media, government representatives, and key stakeholders. Deep understanding of the media landscape and the dynamics of public policy communications. Strong writing skills, with the ability to develop strategic messaging, media releases, speeches, and reports. A proactive and strategic thinker, able to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and navigate the intricacies of government communications. Experience managing client relationships and driving successful PR campaigns.
