Senior Aboriginal Health Program Officer This Full Time position is for Permanent or Fixed Term appointment. Fixed Term appointment includes the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Position Profile: Assists with the management of local level planning, implementation and review of a range of Aboriginal health initiatives. This includes strategic partnerships, supporting implementation of the WACHS Cultural Governance Framework, policy advice, workforce and community engagement to close the gap in Aboriginal health disadvantage in accordance with key WA Health and WA Country Health Service (WACHS) policies and strategic directions.
Area Profile: The WACHS Wheatbelt region has a population of over 78,850 (5.5% Aboriginal) across 5 Aboriginal lands and language groups. It extends from the Turquoise Coast to Southern Cross to the Darling Scarp to the regional towns of Wagin and Lake Grace, with some locations bordering the metropolitan areas. The Wheatbelt is a region of enormous opportunity, rich diverse cultural heritage and growing development and innovation. Health services currently available to the Wheatbelt community include emergency care and retrieval, acute and sub-acute inpatient care, aged care, mental health, child, school and community health, renal, cancer and palliative care services.
