Role - SEND Tutor Milk Education are working with a client who are currently recruiting for SEND Specialist tutors where you will support children on a 1:1 basis within various environments such as hospitals, homes, hubs and local libraries.
For this role you will be a SEND specialist with experience within the education and/or care sector and MUST have a good understanding of the UK Curriculum.
Ages of students which you will support will vary between 5 years - 25 years of age, and will have varying needs.
Support will depend on the child's needs, this could be:
Speech and language supportCreative, Sensory and Motor skills supportMaths and English supportResponsibilities as a SEND Tutor: Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in various subjectsAssess students' learning needs and develop personalized lesson plansHelp students improve their academic performance and achieve their learning goalsUtilize effective teaching strategies and resources to enhance student understandingMonitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardiansCollaborate with teachers and parents/guardians to support student learning and address any concernsAbout you as a SEND Tutor: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or currently pursuing a degree)Previous experience tutoring or working in education, particularly with childrenStrong knowledge and understanding of the subject(s) being tutoredExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenPatience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needsFamiliarity with special education practices is a plusMust be available full timeConfident supporting children and young adults with SENDAble to plan and prepare resourcesKind, caring and positive role modelAdhere to health care plansReliable and consistentApplicants will be subject to a variety of checks including: an enhanced DBS check, full references, including from your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK.
