About the role selectability is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Acting Team Leader- Child & Family Care to join our team from the 10/02/2025 - 28/02/2025.
As an Acting Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Child & Family Care professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care.
Our youth residential program provides care and intensive support to children and young people who have a variety of needs.
Acting Team Leaders play a vital role in leading a team that supports children and young people to live their best life.
They have a passion for working with young people and provide guidance and support to a team of youth workers.
You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with the relevant Child & Family Care legislation and regulation, as well as organisational policy and procedures.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, families, and young people.
As an Acting Team Leader, you will lead, coach, and mentor a team of senior youth workers and youth workers in meeting a child or young person's individual needs whilst promoting culturally safe and competent practice within the program.
Acting Team Leaders oversee house operations with a strengths-based, person-centered approach while also maintaining a strong outcomes focus.
The Acting Team Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing the daily operations of the Child & Family Care services, which includes monitoring, managing, and supporting a team of youth workers to maintain: workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, managing positive behaviour support plans, and compliance checking.
Ensuring that all team members are trained and up to date with relevant procedures and regulations.
Providing support and guidance to employees when required.
Reporting any concerns or incidents to the relevant manager.
Providing exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
Maintaining professional boundaries at all times.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
Facilitating team meetings and professional development activities.
Assisting children and young people in the development and delivery of their individual care plans and goals.
Assisting and empowering children and young people in maintaining their environment.
About you To be successful, you must:
Have a minimum or equivalent of a certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention for Residential Care.
Have a positive attitude.
Possess clear and effective communication skills.
Demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management.
Have experience working in a team environment.
Exhibit an ability to problem-solve.
Be able to follow policies and procedures at all times.
Be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals.
Be available to be on call, to provide support and assistance as required.
Travel across selectability sites is required.
You will also need:
A current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence.
A currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle.
Current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain).
A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain).
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'.
