About UsThe Euroa Arboretum is a 27-hectare site located on the outskirts of the Euroa township. The Euroa Arboretum is a Not-for-Profit business. It has a volunteer Committee for Euroa Arboretum Incorporated (EAI) that oversees the management requirements of the site as well as project development and delivery of natural resource management priorities in the local area. Euroa Arboretum operations and services include a native nursery, seedbank, landscape restoration and education & community engagement Goulburn Broken Indigenous Seedbank (GBIS) is a joint project between the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority and Euroa Arboretum. The GBIS was formed due to an increasing demand for indigenous seed provision for the large amount of revegetation occurring in the Goulburn Broken Catchment. The long-term goal of the GBIS is to provide genetically robust, diverse seed, adapted to a drying GBIS is based out of the Euroa Arboretum, Euroa.About the RoleWe are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to join the team as Seed Collection Coordinator. Appointment to this position will be on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE). For suitable candidates, there is potential to combine roles into 1 FTE details can be found in the position description available for download below.Under direction of the Seedbank Manager and drawing on your plant identification skills, you will coordinate the collection of seed from indigenous vegetation across the Goulburn Broken Catchment. Seed will also be sourced from established Seed Production Areas (SPAs) in collaboration with the Bush Crew and SPA Coordinator. Where needed, you will also support the team in the cleaning, processing, storage, distribution and record keeping of seed Euroa Arboretum comprises a team of passionate staff and offers an inclusive, dynamic and exciting place to work. Selection CriteriaA tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in natural resources field. Sound ecological restoration knowledge, including good plant identification skills are essential.Experience in staff supervision, including the requirements for staff working outdoors.Hands-on experience in environmental management activities, particularly seed collection, storage, and database management.Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks and forward
