The Office of the Governor provides advice and support to the Governor of Victoria and spouse.
It also supports constitutional and ceremonial duties, manages an extensive program of engagements and visits for the Governor throughout Victoria and overseas, and undertakes various works at Government House.

The Security Operations Branch's key role is to manage and co-ordinate the security operations for the Office of the Governor.

The unit's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Oversight and co-ordination of security including alarm and CCTV systems, and responding to security related issues for the Office of the Governor. Working closely with Victoria Police to manage the security environment and functions for the Office of the Governor including liaising with Victoria Police Protective Service Officers. Duties Perform day-to-day security tasks which support the operations of the Office of the Governor, which include liaison with Victoria Police Protective Services Officers. Monitor security systems and action security incidents with appropriate responses. Maintain focus and observe the activities associated with asset protection. Use appropriate methods of communication to report incidents or issues. Contribute to the reporting of any faults or defects observed throughout shifts to the appropriate persons. Provide accurate and relevant advice to queries, in line with defined processes. Maintain and update security systems as required. Assist in various roles on days when events are scheduled. Oversee deliveries and contractor access. Understand and comply with all health, safety and risk management policies and procedures. Perform as a member of the Office of the Governor any other duties as directed by the Security Manager. Key selection criteria Customer Service Planning and Organising Communication Skills Flexibility and Adaptability Teamwork Ethics Demonstrated experience in security operations, police or military would be beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of access control systems would be advantageous. Experience in managing CCTV operations is desirable. Flexibility in working to an agreed shift pattern to cover 24 hours over 365 days.
