Salary: $91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% Superannuation
Location: Fairbairn – ACT, Edinburgh - SA, Fishermans Bend - VIC
The Role Key requirements.
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Leading the analysis and review of documentation to identify security vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with the Defence Security Policy Framework and organisational standards.Leveraging a deep understanding of the security risk landscape to research, assess and provide expert advice on complex risk issues offering strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders through consultation.Management and upkeep of critical DRICS records, documents, and information, ensuring compliance with governance and security standards.Setting priorities as well as providing administrative and coordination support functions for a geographically dispersed team.Building and sustaining productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors to achieve security risk management outcomes in accordance with the Partnership Security objectives.Leading engagement and communication efforts across a wide range of stakeholders, managing enquiries, and performing sensitive security risk management activities, including complex problem solving and issue management/resolution.About our Team The Partnership Security team is in DSTG's Science Strategic Planning and Engagement Division and is responsible for ensuring that our security protections and those applied by our collaborators are contemporary and aligned with Defence's security policies.
As Defence, collaborations are evolving and moving into more sensitive and nationally classified areas, the Partnership Security team's role is to ensure that Defence's technology and capability edge is not compromised.
Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for professionals with strong experience in security risk management and analysis, with an understanding of Australia's strategic, Defence and national security priorities.
Ideal candidates will:
Have experience or the ability to acquire rapidly, an expert understanding of Australian Government and Defence security principles, policy and controls and the role these play in mitigating high-level security risks.Demonstrated advanced expertise in security risk management, confidently supporting strategic, risk based decision-making to enable Defence and its partners to deliver complex IS&T into Defence capability.Be adept at interpreting policy, developing and delivering solutions to complex security challenges, and advising on critical security issues.Exhibit exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and present complex information to senior stakeholders.Be comfortable with proactively building and maintaining productive relationships across Defence, Government, Defence Industry, Academia and Publicly Funded Research Agencies.You may be required to travel interstate occasionally to support key program objectives.Security Clearance: Prior to commencement successful applicants will be required to initially have or obtain a minimum of a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance.
You will then be required to obtain a security clearance at the Positive Vetting level.
