About the Role: Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer for a 12 month contract.
This is a critical role focused on ensuring the security and integrity of systems during the large scale project.
You will work closely with IT and security teams to protect sensitive data, maintain compliance, and safeguard the organisation against emerging threats.
Responsibilities: Monitor security alerts and incidents across environments, analysing threats and responding to security incidents effectively. Implement and manage security tools and technologies to protect data and systems throughout the separation process. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the security of cloud and on-premise environments, including the configuration of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) tools. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses in the infrastructure. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Liaise with external partners and vendors to ensure alignment with security best practices and contractual obligations. Provide training and support to operational teams on security awareness and incident response procedures. Requirements: Minimum 5 years experience in a security operations role with in-depth knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies relevant to the financial services sector. Experience with separation and integration projects. Proven experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents in a timely and effective manner. Familiarity with securing cloud environments (Microsoft Azure) and on-premise infrastructure. Understanding of compliance requirements in the financial services industry, including data protection and privacy regulations. Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability assessment tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate security risks. Excellent communication skills to engage with internal teams and external partners on security matters. Benefits: 12-month contract with potential for extension.
