About the role and team
Our team at Magistrates Court of Tasmania in Hobart keeps the courts and people who attend them safe, secure and orderly.
As a valued team member, you'll play a significant role in helping build safer communities by ensuring the public feel safe and protected when dealing with the judicial system.
This is a varied and exciting position where you have to think on your feet, be able to problem solve and work as a team, making no two days the same.
Responsibilities: Providing exceptional customer service to anyone entering the courtConducting x-ray screening, using metal detectors and searching individuals for prohibited itemsRoving security patrols within and external to the buildingConflict resolution and negotiationActing as a first responder to any incidents that may occurManaging access and control roomsMagistrates Court of Tasmania is divided into four locations across the state - Burnie, Launceston, Devonport and HobartWhat we can offer you: Full-time & casual employment opportunities availableDaytime hours of operation Monday to Friday, (Daytime and Weekend After hours Shifts)Onsite paid training gaining work-related accreditation and certification.A supportive and friendly team of colleagues and leaders to work with.An attractive Level 4 Pay rate of $27.88 per hour plus super as per the award is offeredWhat we're looking for: people who have been in similar careers but wanting a slower pace i.e., ex- Police Officers, Correctional Officers, Static Guards that want a more interesting role, people who have previously worked in the judicial system
Essential Requirements: Clear and concise communication skillsCertificate II or III in Security OperationsCurrent Tasmanian Security LicenceCurrent First Aid AccreditationCurrent CPR accreditationMonitoring room operator experience will be regardedDesirable to have batons and handcuffs accreditation.How to apply:
