We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Security Officer Ambassador to support the delivery of exceptional mental health services in Hervey Bay. This unique role blends traditional non-security and community engagement with a focus on promoting safety, support, and awareness in a mental health setting. As a Security Officer Ambassador, you will be a key part of a dedicated team working to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals seeking mental health services.
Your opportunity: The Ambassador is a non-traditional security role that provides a patient-focused liaison role within the Fraser Coast Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit. The role is part of the multidisciplinary inpatient team and is managed by the Nurse Unit Manager.This role is focused on the proactive engagement of patients and visitors to improve the experience of care and to prevent and/or reduce aggressive incidents by employing appropriate verbal de-escalation and intervention strategies through people-focused, trauma-informed, respectful, empathetic, and supportive interactions aimed at promoting a safe environment and the provision of high-quality patient-focused safety and security-related care.The Ambassador's role is characterised by respectful, non-judgemental, trauma-informed, supportive, and people-focused interactions.Salary and Benefits: You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $67,941 p.a., comprising salary rates $34.02 - $35.66 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (OO3) (Permanent Part Time, 64 hours p.f.).
