The Security Monitor (SM) is responsible for maintaining the security posture of restricted areas to include controlled and unclassified areas, ancillary buildings, and personnel movements and safety.
The SM reports directly to the Security Monitor Supervisor (SMS).
This position is responsible for providing line of site monitoring of uncleared personnel/visitors to site or monitoring per the projects security concept of operations (CONOPs) to ensure sensitive information and infrastructure are safeguarded.
In addition, SMs will ensure the movements of uncleared personnel are restricted to designated areas and tasks required for the particular activity assigned to them in accordance with site security and safety protocols.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a thorough working knowledge of SM Project CONOPs assigned to you as well as overarching Facility Regulations relating to SM responsibilities, Emergency procedures and adherence to all other site regulations.
Communicate security processes in a clear and professional manner in all interactions with site and uncleared personnel.
Maintain control of assigned uncleared personnel to site ensuring uncleared personnel do not have access to site sensitive material or access to unauthorized areas.
Actively prevent the removal or theft of items belonging to the facility.
Effectively communicate and monitor communications on the sites hand-held radio system.
Ensure that uncleared personnel do not bring or use unauthorised electronic equipment or other prohibited items onto the facility.
Ensure that uncleared personnel are aware of and follow relevant evacuation, lockdown and security procedures and processes, and maintain positive control of the uncleared personnel during emergency events Accurately collect and process Security Incident reports, Infraction reports and Self-reports for incidents that happen on job sites.
Perform duties in extreme weather conditions, and often with prolonged standing, sitting, walking and climbing stairs.
Assist contract in one or all of the following areas when there is an operational requirement for additional support, including: Custodial, Food Services and Trades, as directed by Security Management.
Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.
The employee will require a TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.
