We are seeking a highly capable Security Manager to support the Bursar and Headmaster in managing the security of the school property and premises and to coordinate parking and stewardship during events. The Security Manager will be a key member of the Lancing College Community and implement our site security operations and ensure the security of the school premises.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Security lead at Lancing College, Lancing Prep at Hove, Lancing Prep at Worthing and Little Lancing (plus any further sites that may join the family of schools in the future).Create a culture of security within the Lancing College schools' communities including presentations to staff and pupils.Be familiar with regulations and protocol for safeguarding.Implement and maintain physical security measures such as access controls, surveillance systems, alarm systems and keys to prevent unauthorised access and ensure safety.Monitor security operations, including patrols, inspections, and incident response, to ensure compliance with policies and standards.Operate and manage systems including CCTV, intruder alarms and physical security.Respond to security incidents, breaches, and emergencies in a timely and effective manner, following established protocols and procedures.Detect and deal appropriately with intruders or call for assistance as required, including asking anyone on site to verify their presence by producing their ID card.Investigate incidents and maintaining records and details of occurrences.Alert the Bursar and Headmaster to any event that could be deemed a critical incident.Liaise with operational teams to manage security personnel, contractors, and vendors, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.Work with the College Marshal and any security assistants as required.Be the key liaison for Events Team / Commercial Enterprises when the College has external events or lettings.Coordinate with external security agencies, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities to address security incidents, emergencies, and investigations.Liaise with all areas on adherence to emergency protocols and co-ordination of security exercises / drills and latest security requirements and ensure adherence to these.Act as key holder for call out attendance (shared with others) to activations and security issues at all sites 24/7 and all year round.Act as holder of the emergency phone (shared with others) 24/7 and all year round.Work with the Estates Team to manage the key system, issuing keys, maintaining starter and leaver procedures, upkeeping of key system information tree.Co-ordinate and maintain staff ID pass process alongside Reception.Work with the Bursar and Estates Team in responding to concerns raised by residents and to ensure harmonious relationships with the local community are maintained.Ensure that there is a response to all alarm calls – including fire alarms.Responsible for managing the operational security budget.Ensure the school is compliant with any relevant laws and regulations.Undertake daily physical security foot patrols across site as necessary.Identify and address tasks noticed during contractor security foot patrols.Record necessary follow-up actions after checks and inspections.Attendance at Security Working group, events meetings, and Support Staff Management Team (SSMT) meetings.What we can offer you: Rent-free accommodation all year round with charge only for council tax and utility bills.Complimentary lunch when working.Comprehensive well-being support from Lancing's Employee Assistance Programme which provides employees with 24/7 support helpline and wellbeing tips including professional advice.Free tickets to College musicals, dance and drama performances.Access to books, magazines and DVDs from the College library.Staff social events, Christmas parties and end of term celebrations.Free parking at our onsite car parks and access to the cycle to work scheme.Discounted childcare at Little Lancing Nursery and Forest School.Application Procedure: Applications should be made using the application form.
