Role Summary
As AtkinsRéalis Australia embarks on its Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) accreditation, this role will be an integral part of enabling a Defence business in Australia. Supported by a mature global team, the successful candidate will benefit from guidance and experience of Security leads from other parts of the business. An understanding of the Australian government security ecosystem is required.
The Security Lead will also be responsible for maintaining security clearances, promoting security compliance, providing security advice, and investigating Security Incidents associated within the Australian business; with the potential to grow a team of Security Points of Contact as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities: Completing the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership application for AtkinsRéalis, across four pillars of physical, ICT, personnel and governance in accordance with the Defence Security Principles Framework. Developing and applying AtkinsRéalis Australia security policies and plans, including governance arrangements, that meet Defence and Whole of Government requirements. Liaising with global security counterparts to ensure alignment with global security practices and policies. Maintaining a Designated Security Assessed Positions list and security register including security incident reports, contact reports and overseas travel briefings, and making these available to Defence upon request. Sponsoring, managing and withdrawing Personal Security Clearances up to Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Personnel Security Clearance. This includes managing the AGSVA portal on behalf of AtkinsRéalis, supporting clearance holders to report changes in circumstances via the myClearance portal, completing incident and contact reports and conducting overseas travel briefings. Applying for reciprocal security clearance recognition for relevant US/UK counterparts through Defence. Maintaining active relationship with AGSVA, circulate security briefs and incorporate security updates into AtkinsRéalis security policies and plans. Facilitating Defence mandated security education and training courses for personnel engaged in Defence work and facilitating all-staff security training, including for insider threat identification, reporting and management. Alongside the Chief Security Officer: Ensuring ongoing compliance with the requirements of DISP membership. Responding to and reporting any security incidents as soon as possible to Defence. Undergoing an interview with Defence to confirm understanding of AtkinsRéalis security obligations. Leading security related governance arrangements for AtkinsRéalis Australia. Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities: A good understanding of the Australian government security ecosystem. Experience completing the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership application in accordance with the Defence Security Principles Framework in a consultancy environment. Experience developing and applying security policies and plans, including governance arrangements, that meet Defence and Whole of Government requirements. An excellent communicator, verbal (active listener) and written (able to write concisely). Ability to articulate and pitch Security advice both at a technical and non-technical level, directly to key customer stakeholders. Desired - existing relationships with AGSVA and/or Government personnel, to be involved / aware of Industry updates.
