You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.About the Team:The Governance and Risk Section is responsible for leading and co-ordinating the Commission's approach to corporate governance, risk, audit and Integrity and Security activities.About the Role:Security Advisors (SAs) are responsible for developing and maintaining assurance and oversight of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission's (the Commission) protective security practices in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Commission's Security Plan. SAs work collaboratively with other stakeholders responsible for security to promote robust security practices and achieve the Commission's security objectives. SAs support other accountable officers across physical, personnel, information and governance security domains to identify security risks, applying risk management strategies and making recommendations to mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities leading to the review or development of the Commission's Security Plan, security policies and standard operating procedures.SAs will also support business continuity and emergency planning initiatives by assisting with the development and continual improvement of the Commission's business continuity framework.Position Duties:SAs will: Establish, implement and maintain effective policies and procedures to achieve security outcomes that are consistent with the PSPF, Commission frameworks and policies and other Australian Government policies and legal requirements;Establish networks and relationships with a range of internal stakeholders to understand the Commission's business functions and vulnerabilities;Provide expert advice and guidance on security issues or concerns and ensure compliance with the PSPF and other Commission frameworks or policies;Maintain awareness of emerging threats and risks to inform security planning activities and research security approaches, models and practices to best suit the Commission's capability needs;Conduct threat and risk assessments to protect our people, information and assets;Provide advice and deliver reports to our Risk and Audit Committee, senior executives and the Business Continuity and Security Committee on the application of and compliance with the PSPF, incidents and emerging risks;Perform quality assurance assessments of the Commission's protective security functions in accordance with PSPF guidance, including co-ordinating, conducting and reporting on security reviews;Continually monitor the Commission's compliance with policies within the PSPF and Security Action Plan;Maintain records of the Commission's security incidents identifying when security incidents require escalation to internal stakeholders and external bodies;Measure and document the Commission's performance against the Security Plan and PSPF;Assist with the annual PSPF self-assessment of the maturity of the Commission's security capability;Assist with investigating, responding to and reporting of protective security incidents and escalating serious or complex incidents to the Chief Security Officer;Assist with ensuring security requirements are considered in the Commission's response to security-related crises, incidents and emergencies in accordance with the Commission's Business Continuity Framework, Crisis Management and Fraud Control processes;Find innovative ways to develop and champion a positive security focused culture ensuring an agile and intuitive security posture by managing the implementation and delivery of the Commission's Security Awareness and Training Plan, including the development and delivery of new and existing security awareness training programs through a variety of media, including induction of new staff and mandatory annual refresher training;Monitor compliance with training and provide updates to the Business Continuity and Security Committee on completion of mandatory training.Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria):To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess and manage risk, work within legislative requirements, make impartial recommendations and provide specialist advice when needed;Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to provide high-level security advice to a range of stakeholders, including communicating with influence to gain co-operation and compliance;Excellent written communication skills including the ability to write in a clear, concise and articulate manner, particularly the ability to prepare quality written briefs to senior stakeholders, security investigation briefings supported with evidence as well as write policies and procedures;Capacity to work in a busy environment with demonstrated skills in time management, working with competing priorities and the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload both individually and in developing the projected work plan for the year;Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes and a positive workplace culture;Proven professional and ethical approach that indicates a high degree of personal integrity and accountability;While not essential, a Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting) would be advantageous;Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply;The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.Position Notes:Salary offered will be between $92,970 - $104,883 per annum depending on skills and experience.
