Lead environmental regulation activities and contribute to positively impacting Northern Tasmania's environment and way of life.
About the role The Section Manager (Northern Regulation) will manage the human, physical, financial, and information resources of the Northern Industrial Regulation Section, a team of eight.
Contribute to business planning, development of procedures, effective management, and future directions of the Branch. Work with various industries including renewables (windfarms), food processing facilities, and mining/extractive. Provide strategic policy and authoritative professional advice on best practice environmental management and regulatory issues. Implement and manage the statutory system for the regulation of environmentally significant matters and activities. Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment 12 months or until the return of substantive occupant, whichever is the sooner.
Minimum Requirements A degree in Science or Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
