Section Manager x 2 - Construction and InfrastructureOur progressive City Works leadership team has two exciting opportunities for individuals to join our team as Section Manager. With significant people management and leadership skills, you will lead and be the advocate for one of two sections - Construction or City Infrastructure. These positions are a member of the City Works Leadership team and are responsible for leading and supporting a Section of dedicated staff and external resources.
The Section Manager – City ConstructionThe Construction Section delivers Council's annual construction works program to create and renew road, storm water and related assets. This role is key in building and maintaining a culture that proactively manages safety and other risks to effectively deliver projects to the community.
The Section Manager – City InfrastructureThe Infrastructure Section delivers Council's annual works program for road pavement, roadside, and drainage maintenance. This role is key in building and maintaining a culture that proactively manages safety and other risks to effectively deliver projects to the community.
Your key focus areas are Manage the effective and efficient delivery of works and services, within allocated budgets and established timeframes.Actively participate as a key member of the City Works Leadership Team and contribute to the development and delivery of organisational and departmental improvement strategies.Actively engage with stakeholders (customers and staff) to deliver high and improving levels of customer service.Cultivate an agile, collaborative, and consultative staff culture through active leadership, guidance, and motivation in line with Council's values.Create a culture that embraces risk management principles and processes that support the implementation of the areas of responsibility at all levels of the organisation.LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOUOur ideal candidates are strategic thinkers and strong humanistic leaders with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and strategy formation. You will possess highly developed collaboration skills and political acumen, demonstrated in your ability to communicate, influence decisions, negotiate, engage stakeholders early, and bring people along the journey with you. Your positive attitude, strong interpersonal, and communication skills will assist you in driving a culture of performance and business improvement. You will easily build and maintain strong working relationships with your people and stakeholders across diverse departments in Council to ensure the delivery of services to the community.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have:
Degree qualifications or experience in a relevant or complimentary discipline such as asset management, civil engineering, or project management.Demonstrated transformative leadership skills with proven ability to quickly trust in and earn the trust of a diverse group of staff and key stakeholders in a complex operating environment.Experience in creating and contributing to a culture where people feel inspired and supported to experiment and test new ideas.Proven ability to deliver management systems, processes, and practices that drive high quality customer service outcomes.Ability to apply sound risk management practices to decision-making.Class C Drivers Licence.LET'S REVEAL THE PERKS Competitive salary from $139,118 to $163,668 per annum plus industry-leading 12% superannuation.Enterprise Agreement pay increases apply.Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range.Lease back vehicle options available.Dynamic and empowering leadership team.We are committed to being an employer of choice.
