About the role Become a valued member of a team that gives back to the community through impactful projects, creating real change and new opportunities for prisoners as they prepare to re-enter the community.
Key responsibilities: Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the team and key stakeholders to achieve common goals.Facilities Maintenance: Support construction and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality service delivery within deadlines.Training & Mentorship: Provide hands-on instruction and guidance to prisoners, fostering skill development and meaningful rehabilitation.Compliance & Reporting: Uphold safety standards, manage records, and prepare insightful reports that drive workshop success.Qualifications: Possess a construction trade certificate at a minimum Certificate III level (e.g., Brick and Block Laying, Carpentry and Joinery) and/or Certificate III in Horticulture (and/or equivalent with relevant specialty area, e.g., parks and gardens, landscaping, conservation and land management, natural area restoration).Licenses: Possess a current valid manual class "C" motor vehicle driving licence.First Aid: Possess a current valid Provide First Aid accreditation received from an accredited training provider with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining.Benefits and opportunities: Generous five weeks' annual leave.Financial allowances - Regional Incentive and District Allowance.Working on community projects for the benefit of all, including DFES.Career pathway opportunities.On-the-job Training and Development.Application process How to apply: Please ensure you review the attached Job Description Form (JDF) for further information about the requirements of the position.
