ROLE SUMMARY:Reddam House Sydney seeks a dedicated and passionate PDHPE (Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education) teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate lessons for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
The ideal candidate will inspire students to lead healthy, active lifestyles and support their physical, social, and emotional well-being.
The role involves supporting the implementation of the PDHPE curriculum, managing school sports events and teams, and fostering a culture of health, fitness, and teamwork within the school. This position plays a vital role in promoting physical well-being and sportsmanship, aligning with Reddam House's mission to develop well-rounded students. The successful candidate will be involved in the school's weekend sports program, which will involve coaching or administering a sport that the Reddam students play.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PDHPE lessons in line with the New South Wales PDHPE syllabus for 7 - 12.Student Engagement: Foster a supportive, inclusive, and active learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.Physical Education Instruction: Teach fundamental movement skills, sport-specific skills, and fitness concepts tailored to different year levels.Classroom Management: Implement effective classroom management strategies that support a safe and positive learning environment.Assessment and Reporting: Conduct ongoing assessment and provide constructive feedback to students; prepare term reports and communicate effectively with parents.Extracurricular Support: Participate in and contribute to school sporting events, extracurricular sports programs, and whole-school activities.Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in PDHPE and contribute to staff professional learning.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
? Proven experience in teaching physical education and leading sports programs, ideally in a high school setting.
? Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events, teams, and activities.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
? Demonstrated leadership abilities, particularly in coaching and team management.
? In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and risk management in school sports.
? Ability to work collaboratively as part of the PDHPE faculty.

? Accreditation to teach in NSW.
? Current First Aid and CPR certification.
? Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent clearance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
? Must be available to support extracurricular sports activities outside of regular school hours.
? Willingness to engage in professional development to stay updated with current trends in sports education.
