In your role as the secondary teacher, you will play a vital role in fulfilling the school's mission of empowering Anangu students to develop the skills and attributes necessary for full participation in both their communities and broader society. The school's approach centres around a Two-Way learning process, blending traditional knowledges and forward-thinking perspectives, preparing students for a modern world with a firm foundation in both worlds.

Located approximately 650km by road from Alice Springs and 250km from the iconic Uluru/Yulara, the community is home to around 300 residents. The community has a general store, childcare centre, football oval, health and community agencies, and a sealed airstrip. The main languages spoken are Pitjantjatjara and Ngaanyatjara. Despite the challenges, the work can be incredibly rewarding and exciting. The Perks!
Salary between $82,183 and $117,863 Fully subsidised accommodation Fully subsidised utilities (power, water and school internet access from accommodation) Remote allowances of $8,000 per annum paid fortnightly Remote retention payment at the end of 12 months employment if returning for a second year ($700) plus annual retention allowance $1,020 in the second year. Up to $1,100 for relocation at the beginning of your contract Ability to salary sacrifice Footprint Placements will provide benefits to assist you in your transition to remote life including:
Trauma Responsive Practice in Education with the Australian Childhood Foundation Cultural Competency course with the Stronger Smarter Institute (placement of term+) Mental health first aid certification (placement of semester+) Unfortunately, the accommodation doesn't allow for pets.
What You Need to Succeed!
To be considered for this amazing opportunity, you will need to possess and/or demonstrate:
TRBNT registration and ochre card (or ability to obtain one) Bachelor in Education, or equivalent NT WWCC Ochre Card Manual Driver's License Comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum A high standard of competency and proficiency as a classroom teacher The capacity to differentiate and cater for different learning needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Good administrative skills Ability to build relationships and listen to the needs of the students, school and community A strong interest in Aboriginal culture, traditions, and a valuing of diversity Experienced teachers and outstanding graduates will be considered.
