The Opportunity You'll be joining a close-knit Secondary & Protection team where you can balance hands-on engineering with technical leadership. This is a role where you'll genuinely contribute to Australia's renewable energy future while working on a variety of challenging and innovative projects.
What You'll Be Doing Lead 4-5 concurrent projects with budget responsibility Provide technical leadership and mentoring (70% of your time) Get hands-on with technical design work (25-30% of your time) Conduct protection studies and run simulations Develop protection schemes from concept through to detailed design Work collaboratively with the Primary Team and Civil & Structural Team on multidisciplinary projects Enjoy getting face to face with clients directly on project delivery Technical Responsibilities Secondary electrical design for distribution, sub-transmission & transmission substations (up to 500 kV) Electrical schematic development SCADA mapping tables and cable schedules Relay configuration file development Protection set point calculations Power systems modelling Design review and verification Required Experience & Qualifications 7 years' + Secondary & Protection experience CPEng or NER registration (RPEV and RPEQ advantageous) Proficiency in DIgSILENT Power Factory, SKM Powertools, and AutoCAD (2D) Experience with IEC 61850 Power utility experience (ideally with companies like AusNet) Consulting background Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BEng) Understand Controls and Instrumentation for process industries Why Consider This Role?
