Key duties: Design and implement lesson plans that align with the Victorian Curriculum, focusing on various aspects of performing arts such as music, drama, dance, and media arts.Assess students' performance through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback, and preparing reports to communicate student progress to parents and guardians.Foster a creative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and expression.Organise and direct school plays, musicals, concerts, and other performances, often working outside regular school hours.Lead or support extracurricular groups such as drama clubs, choirs, or dance teams, helping students to develop their skills further and gain performance experience.Work closely with other teachers in the performing arts department and across different departments to create interdisciplinary projects and performances.Coordinate logistics for performances, including booking venues, managing ticket sales, and liaising with technical staff.Skills & Experience: Full Australian Working rightsMinimum 4 year Bachelors Degree with at least 1 year teaching qualificationCurrent VIT registration or working towards thisTeaching experience in teaching Performing Arts in schools in AustraliaAbility to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).Offering: A full-time position starting Term 1, 2025Instructing students across years 7-9Interacting with approachable and transparent leadershipWork as part of a larger Sports facultySalary aligned with demonstrated expertise, ranging from $78,000 to $116,000Continuing opportunities for professional developmentThe School: Approximately 1,500 students spanning Foundation to Year 9Warm, inclusive school environment with a progressive educational approachState-of-the-art facilities with modern amenitiesStrong emphasis on integrating Indigenous perspectives throughout the school and curriculumAccessible and supportive leadership team, providing comprehensive support for both teachers and studentsHow to apply: To apply, follow the link provided or apply on our website
