About the role: Are you a passionate Maths teacher eager to make a real impact on students' lives? Tradewind is partnering with a college that collaborates with Youth Justice Precincts and Secure Care Units in Melbourne's West. Starting in 2025, you'll have the opportunity to work with students aged 15-18 in small class settings, benefiting from excellent teacher support and well-being initiatives. This role would involve teaching Maths to students, with a preparedness to tailor lessons to students' abilities within the Year P-10 Vic Curriculum.
The goal is to provide high-quality education tailored to the needs of young people in custody, in collaboration with the Department of Justice and Community Safety, as well as the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

Key duties: Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum.Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math.Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed.Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices.Skills & Experience: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.Current VIT registration.Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Maths in a school setting in Australia.Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).Offering: Full-time, starting from Term 1, 2025.Ongoing opportunity.Instructing students from ages 15-18.Small classes of 5-8 students with a Youth Justice member present at all times.Dedicated well-being team for the teachers.No after school meetings!Work within a Maths faculty teaching team.Collaborating with approachable and transparent leadership.Salary aligned with demonstrated expertise and time dedication.The School: The College is dedicated to providing education in a unique environment focused on helping students develop and change their trajectories.
