You will work with a great team of Teachers and EAs to work with students with special needs or who require additional educational support.Key responsibilities will include:Academic and pastoral oversight of students with special needs or identified to be at educational risk.Administrative duties include but are not limited to:NCCD Funding applications.Development of IEPS, CAPS and other educational plans in consultation with teachers.Attending and contributing to the Secondary School Pastoral Care meetings.Attending Staff and Team Planning meetings.Where required, attend Parent-Teacher meetings.Essential Knowledge and Experience:You will have:an active Christian faith and you are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos and Core Values of the Collegea deeply relational, friendly and open personalitya passion for children with education support needs and effective intervention educationexcellent written and verbal communication skills, which can be used effectively with staff, students and parentsthe ability to organise and plan effectively and manage your time wella thorough understanding of the WA Curriculum and achievement standardsthe willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that your students are always well provided forthe ability to work within a Google Chrome environmentthe ability to offer authentic learning experiences that will empower your students to learnQualifications:You will have:a relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required in the positiona current Western Australia Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration (TRBWA)a current Working With Children CardAdditional Requirements:The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principals Child Safe Modules if not already completed.The successful applicant will be required to complete the Discovery Educational Therapy Training Course.You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).Criteria QuestionsPlease address the following criteria in a concise paragraph per question:How would you prefer to see an Educational Support Unit working in a Secondary School setting?Why is Special Needs/Educational Development your area of passion?How do you see the role of the parent in the development of the student's learning capacity?Excited by the possibilities?
