Key duties: Develop and implement a comprehensive English/Humanities curriculum aligned with Victorian curriculum, covering various topics such as literature, writing, grammar, history, geography, and social studies.Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating a combination of lectures, discussions, activities, and projects to enhance students' understanding and critical thinking skills.Encourage students to think critically, analyse information, evaluate evidence, and draw informed conclusions about humanities topics and issues. Promote inquiry-based learning and research skills to develop students' intellectual curiosity and independent thinking.Collaborate with colleagues in English, history, geography, and other humanities disciplines to create interdisciplinary projects, units, and activities that integrate multiple subject areas and foster cross-curricular connections.Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in humanities education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration.Skills & Experience: Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia.Current VIT registration is essential.Proven experience teaching secondary English/Humanities in Australia within a Secondary school setting.Graduates are welcome to apply and will be supported.Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).Offering: A full-time, ongoing position.Scope for teachers to choose/have significant input into chosen texts.Work amongst enthusiastic teachers who together, are building a new school!Join a new school that is actively growing- introducing year 8 for first time in 2025.Working with students in years 7 and 8 with additional year levels added in the coming years.Leadership actively focused on staff wellbeing and work/life balance.Salary aligned with demonstrated expertise, ranging from $75,000 to $115,000.Continuing opportunities for professional development and leadership in the near future.The School: New school opened in 2024 with the introduction of year 7.
