Our Geraldton factory is located on the beautiful coral coast of Western Australia, 424 km from Perth.
Great hourly rates including overtime and weekend penalties. Flexible working hours, with afternoon and weekend shifts available. GFC is a wholly member-owned organisation that receives, transports, processes and sells its members' products all year round.
While our work is highly seasonal, with the peak usually between November and March each year, we do hire applicants from the talent pool all year round. During the November - March peak season, we recruit heavily to support our operations and offer competitive pay (including overtime/weekend penalty rates).
Working hours are generally outside "regular office hours" including afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends (overtime rates and penalty rates apply!). There is a need to be flexible sometimes at short notice.
Job Duties Include: Sorting, grading, trimming, washing and packaging lobsters. Baskets – weighing, tipping, moving, returning and preparation for loading trucks. Feeding graders, stun tank and packers. Checking tanks – removing weak lobsters; notifications of these removals. Ticketing, sealing, taping and stamping polystyrene boxes. Cleaning workplace / holding tanks / freezers / waste bins etc.; and Removal of wastes. For those who show an interest, there are structured training and competency assessments to progress to higher-level Seafood Process Attendant grades and to other positions within the organisation with longer term positions available for the right candidates.
