Exciting Role- Temporary, Full-time, Herston | The incumbent operates with a high degree of independence in performing the day-to-day functions of the position, while maintaining open channels of communication between staff of the Skills Development Unit and staff throughout Pathology Queensland.
The role
We are seeking an organized and dynamic individual to support the operations of the Skills Development Unit (SDU) team within Pathology Queensland. In this role, you will coordinate statewide training programs, manage administrative and financial processes, and oversee the online learning and assessment feedback portals. You will ensure seamless delivery of training initiatives by liaising with attendees, organizing facilities and catering, and providing timely responses to inquiries. Additionally, you will support the Pathology Queensland graduate program by overseeing recruitment, managing participant documentation, and coordinating leave, travel, and financial claims.
Key to this role will be your ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage competing priorities, and foster collaboration with staff across all levels, including senior and executive leaders. With strong analytical, communication, and time management skills, you will ensure compliance with health and safety policies, organizational procedures, and financial standards. Proficiency in industry-standard software, including the Microsoft Office and Adobe suites, along with an understanding of learning management systems, will be highly regarded. While no mandatory qualifications are required, an interest in adult learning and familiarity with the pathology industry will enhance your suitability for this position.

Pathology Queensland (PQ) provides diagnostic pathology services to all Hospital and Health Services (HHS) across metro, regional and remote Queensland and plays a critical role in the government's response to public health threats, epidemics, and civil emergencies.
PQ offers laboratory services in the disciplines of anatomical pathology, chemical pathology, haematology, immunology, microbiology, and genomics. PQ also provides expert analysis, scientific testing, and advice to maintain and improve our public and environmental health, and to support the coronial system in Queensland.
