THE ROLE The Scrum Master is responsible for leading and facilitating Agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver critical solutions.
This includes coaching, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow Agile methodology.
To ensure the delivery of programs and projects are relevant and impactful, the Scrum Master is required to engage across the Digital Programs structure, other senior agency stakeholders, industry, and research sectors.
Your duties are: Determine, plan and manage tasks, issues, risks, and action items, including goals and priorities, to ensure the delivery of significant digital products to meet agreed performance objectives.
Deliver and lead scrum events and meetings, including facilitating and implementing robust and disciplined decision-making processes.
Manage progress and performance of scrum teams and recommend and deliver systematic improvements, with a focus on value creation.
This includes ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for scrum teams.
Establish and foster strategic partnerships.
Encouraging a culture of collaboration and delivering expert consultancy for the effective delivery of a range of significant digital products.
Lead, plan and manage the delivery of demonstrations and product/system testing of digital solutions.
Provide consultancy services and expert advice into the development of models of business processes and influence planning and change management processes within government to ensure strategies are implemented in accordance with the government's strategic intentions.
Lead and manage the establishment of comprehensive consultation processes with key stakeholders and foster collaboration to develop strategic directions consistent with the government's approach to whole of government initiatives.
Lead, guide and mentor multi-disciplinary teams, model service excellence and champion continuous learning to build team capacity and capability and the continuous improvement in product and service delivery.
Plan for and facilitate workshops with senior representatives across government to elicit feedback, drive creative ideas and solve complex business and technical problems.
Essential expertise you will have: Essential qualification: Recognised Scrum Master qualification Extensive experience in managing programs of work, determining priorities and goals and delivering complex projects using Agile Methodologies.
Experience in leading, planning and managing the delivery of demonstrations and product/system testing of ICT-related solutions.
Demonstrated experience in evaluating project constraints to find alternatives, alleviating risks and delivering and leading scrum events and meetings, including facilitating and implementing robust and disciplined decision-making processes.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the product lifecycle in a technology setting.
High-level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build strong/constructive relationships and networks both internal and external to the organisation.
Extensive experience in providing effective leadership within a multidisciplinary team.
Proven ability to manage effectively in an environment of change by providing leadership, coordination, consultation, motivation, delegation and monitoring.
Proven ability to work under broad policy guidelines exercising original thinking and significant levels of initiative and decision making in complex operational matters to achieve the successful implementation of Agency activities in accordance with corporate goals and government policies.
Extensive experience creating and facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders to elicit feedback, drive creative ideas and solve complex business and technical problems.
Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics, EEO and cultural inclusion.
An understanding of the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.
An understanding of and ability to work/manage to the spirit and principles of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management – Guidelines.
