Scrum Master Local Peoples is seeking enthusiastic and talented Scrum Master in the ACT, NSW, QLD, SA and VIC to join our team as embedded members with our prestigious Government client.
Our Government client is seeking to engage suitably qualified and experienced Scrum Masters to work as part of Agile Delivery Teams in the Chief Information Officer Division to deliver and support a range of ICT projects/programs.
You will be required to facilitate Agile ceremonies, help to build a high performing team, support the Product Owner, and remove or mitigate delivery impediments, issues, and risks.
You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure the efficient creation, management, and utilisation of information resources.
Join us and play a crucial role in exciting projects directly alongside government clients.
Roles & Responsibilities: Leading Agile ceremonies using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospectives, ensuring they are positive and productive.
Providing reports and dashboards to leadership/management on sprint and program deliverables.
Assisting with managing the product backlog and prioritisation tasks, ensuring alignment with key deliverables.
Ensuring transparency by maintaining communication channels and providing visibility into the Agile Delivery Team's (ADT) progress and challenges.
Effectively identifying and removing/resolving delivery impediments and issues, and effectively mitigate and manage risk within agreed tolerances.
Coordinating dependencies and aligning efforts with other ADTs.
Guide agency staff in adhering to Agile principles, practices, and SAFe framework guidelines.
Cultivate and maintain strategic professional relationships with business, vendor partners, and representatives from other government agencies.
Perform additional responsibilities as required and directed by the relevant Director/Team Leader or delegate.
Essential Skills & Experience: Evidenced experience (3 years) and industry recognised certification/qualifications as a Scrum Master.
A strong understanding of the SAFe methodology and its application within a large and complex Program, preferably within a government context.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and negotiate with a range of audiences.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues to achieve outcomes.
Experience effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions, with an ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to change and uncertainty.
Experience developing and monitoring the delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
Proven ability to act with discretion and integrity in managing sensitive information.
Proficiency in using various IT applications and project management tools, including the MS Suite, Azure Dev Ops, and Miro or similar.
Desirable Criteria: Industry recognised certification or demonstrated work experience in SAFe agile ways of working.
Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Management, Project Management, or a similar field.
Demonstrated work experience managing/delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs/projects in an Australian Government setting.
Residency & Clearance: Must be an Australian citizen.
Must be open to work in any of these locations: Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Melbourne.
Must be able to obtain Baseline Clearance.
