The Opportunity We are looking for multiple full-time Teachers based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
Opportunities exist to teach both Middle School and High School students with class ratios of roughly one teacher to ten students with additional teacher aide support. We are accepting applications from both graduate teachers and experienced teachers!
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Delivering an engaging and challenging teaching program using EAL/D methodologies Developing and delivering integrated, innovative learning units Collaborating with colleagues to foster professional and collegial practices Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student learning and progress Managing student behaviour and creating a safe, supportive learning environment Maintaining accurate records and student information on the TASS database Utilising ICT tools and media to enhance teaching and learning experiences Incorporating pastoral care into classroom activities to support student wellbeing Actively participating in staff meetings and contributing ideas for improvement Ensuring compliance with College policies, procedures, and WH&S requirements Promoting the College's vision, values, and reputation within the wider community What You'll Need To qualify, you will need NT Teacher Registration or the willingness to obtain it and a current Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card). Candidates must also hold or be willing to obtain accreditation required by Lutheran Education Australia.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience with English-as-an-Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) learners Knowledge of adolescent development and student engagement strategies Proficiency in using ICT tools and applications for teaching and administration Familiarity with curriculum development, assessment, and reporting practices Understanding of culturally responsive teaching and Aboriginal education strategies Adaptability and flexibility to adjust approach mid-lesson As our ideal candidate, you will possess the following soft skills: excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities. You should also demonstrate empathy, patience, flexibility, and a non-judgmental attitude, alongside a commitment to student wellbeing and lifelong learning.
