Participate in the multidisciplinary team with quality activities including writing SOPs and contributing to validation studies for new and/or modified MDU assays under the supervision of senior staff.Make responsible and informed decisions to prioritise work according to test urgency and availability of instrumentation, in collaboration with the team.Key competencies (role specific criteria)You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:Demonstrate a sound level of knowledge, expertise and skill in performing and reporting diagnostic virological and molecular investigations.Demonstrate an ability to participate in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team under the clinical practice supervision of more senior practitioners.Demonstrate ability, once trained, to work independently during evening and weekend shifts.Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a molecular service with provision of results in a client-focused manner.Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO/NPAAC/TGA accreditation/certification.Qualifications, registrations and other requirementsThe successful applicant must hold at least a relevant tertiary degree qualification (or equivalent degree) in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology or related discipline.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification.
