About the Role We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant, and engaged team responsible for:
Performing manual and automated diagnostic testing.Executing all routine procedures from specimen reception to results for pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection.Assisting with stock control.Maintaining records in line with protocols.Operating and maintaining all equipment as per protocols.Staying current with scientific knowledge.Participating in routine and audit-related Quality Assurance activities.Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required.Training staff.Liaising with internal and/or external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals as necessary.Complying with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures, and Quality Assurance Processes.About You To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or equivalent.At least 1 year of experience in the respective discipline.Sound knowledge of QC, QAP, and troubleshooting.Ability to identify, develop, and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.Ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence and infrequent supervision.Commitment to quality and excellence.Willingness to adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.Positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member.Strong time management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Able to thrive in a busy environment.Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department-specific vaccine-preventable diseases.AIMS (Australian Institute of Medical Scientists) membership is recommended.Benefits and Wellbeing As part of working for Healius, you will have access to a range of benefits including:
