About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Multiskilled Scientist who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team responsible for:
Performing manual and automated diagnostic testing Executing all routine procedures from point of specimen reception to results for Pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection Assisting with Stock Control Maintaining records and recording results in line with protocols Maintaining and operating equipment in line with protocols Keeping current with scientific knowledge Participating in routine and audit-related Quality Assurance activities Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required Training staff Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals as necessary Compliance with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes About You: To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting Ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification Ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence and infrequent supervision Outstanding commitment to quality and excellence Willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures Positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department-specific vaccine preventative diseases Benefits and Wellbeing: A marketplace of exclusive discounts and vouchers from leading Australian and online retailers.
