Scientist In Charge - Histopathology

Clinipath Pathology is a Perth based subsidiary of Sonic Healthcare with a reputation as a quality pathology service provider, focusing on professional excellence, reliability and excellent customer service.
Over recent years the Histopathology department has expanded to become the largest routine histopathology laboratory in Western Australia.
Clinipath is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced senior scientist to lead our growing team in the role of Scientist in Charge of Histopathology.
Reporting to the Central Lab Manager and Head of Department Pathologist, the Scientist in Charge of Histopathology will manage a large team of skilled technical staff to deliver exceptional histopathological services.
This position requires a person with technical expertise in histological techniques across a broad range of specialties.
The successful applicant will have:
A Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited AIMS approved courseExtensive experience in a NATA accredited diagnostic histopathology laboratory.Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role managing a large teamProven expertise in managing a team of laboratory professionals across all aspects of histology servicesDemonstrated ability to recruit, develop, train and supervise a team ensuring successful outcomesExperience in development of business cases and implementation of new methods and servicesProven experience and knowledge in quality management systems and relevant pathology StandardsExceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with the laboratory team, key referrers, clinicians and Pathologists within the Clinipath and Sonic network.Computer literacy and capacity to learn new systems is essentialAn understanding of workplace health and safety issues and an ability to implement and maintain safe standards and work practices in the departmentA commitment to continuing education and maintenance of high professional standardsA focus on Customer service to ensure the provision of outstanding quality serviceThe Histopathology department operates 7 days per week with 24 hour per day operation during weekdays.
